6th Grand Intra Moot Court Competition Rules and Regulations



1.  MEMORIALS
Content:
Memorials contents should be in the order as given below:

Ø  Table of contents
Ø  Index of authorities
Ø  Statement of jurisdiction
Ø  Statement of issues
Ø  Summary of facts(statement of facts)
Ø  Summary of arguments
Ø  Body of arguments(arguments advance)
Ø  Prayer

Format:

Memorials cover page should be blue for petitioner and red for the respondent, soft cover and spirally bound.

·         Font: - Times New Roman.
·         Font size: - 12. Foot note size: - 10.
·         Double spacing.
·         No spacing in foot notes.
·         Page border.
·         One inch margin on each side.
·         Page limit of memorials should not exceed more than 25 pages. (Body of arguments should not exceed 15 pages).
·         Five copies on each side should be submitted (5-Petitioner + 5- Respondent=10 copies).

Submission Date:

Submission of memorials- 14th March,2012 by 4:00 pm.
Late submission of memorials will lead to negative marking of 1 point by every 1 hour.  On 15th March 2012, after 12.00 pm no memorials shall be marked.
The memorials should be submitted to the undersigned.

NOTE:

The marks for memorials shall be included in the marks for oral submissions for the purpose of calculating the total in the Preliminary Round; however the memorial marks shall not be added to the oral submissions marks for the quarter finals, semi-finals & the final rounds.

Memorials if found copied shall be disqualified and it shall lead to penalty in the preliminary round.

2.   DRESS CODE:

Participants should compulsorily be in their court room formals which include black trousers, white shirt, black blazer and dark coloured tie-preferably black (white salwar kameez permissible for girls).

Students not adhering to the aforesaid dress code shall be marked negatively during their oral submissions.

3.   FORMAT FOR THE COMPETITION

The competition will be of four rounds {Preliminary, Quarter-final, Semi-Final and Final Rounds.   

Each side shall be allowed 30 minutes for their oral submissions (Including rebuttal). One speaker cannot exceed 15 minutes in the Preliminary Round and Quarter-final Rounds. In the Semi-finals and the Finals the teams have 45 minutes for their oral presentations (Including rebuttal), one speaker cannot exceed 20 minutes.

4.   RESEARCHER'S TEST & DRAW OF LOTS

Each participant (i.e. all the 3 members of the team.) must appear for the researcher’s test of 50 marks, to be held on 15th March 2012.
Draw of lots to be held after the researcher's test, i.e. 15th March 2012.
